No. Desi Req does not require sign-up. Posting and upvoting are open to everyone. We track votes by IP address so each person gets one vote per request.

Click "Post request" in the top navigation. Fill in the product name, a short description, the category it belongs to, and your zipcode. You can also attach up to four images to help store owners identify the product.

Your upvote adds one point to that request, bumping it higher in the board. You can only upvote each request once. Upvoted requests are more visible to store owners browsing demand in your zipcode.

When you submit a new request, Desi Req checks for existing requests with the same or a very similar product name in your zipcode. If a match is found, your post is automatically merged into the existing request and counts as an upvote — keeping the demand signal strong instead of splitting it across duplicates.

On any request detail page, enter your email in the notification section. You will be contacted when the product becomes available at a store in your area. You only need to subscribe once per request.

Desi Req currently serves the Atlanta (ATL) area. We plan to expand to more regions as the community grows. If you would like your city next, let us know by posting a request.

No. Your email is only used to send availability notifications. It is never displayed publicly or shared with third parties. IP addresses are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Not yet. Since no account is required, there is no way to verify ownership of a post. If you see something that should be removed, contact us and we will review it.

Uploaded images are stored securely and linked to the request. They help store owners identify the exact product. You can upload up to four images per request, each up to 5 MB in JPG, PNG, or WEBP format.
